The Bott app: local vs. cloud
Bott can use local models that run on your computer, or external AI providers that you configure. Where your data is processed depends on which one handles a given request:
- Local models: the request is processed on your device by the model you've installed.
- Cloud providers: the request is sent to that provider to generate a response. Their terms and data policies apply.
You choose which providers are enabled, and can change that configuration at any time.
The Bott phone app
Your phone talks to your PC through an encrypted link. Messages are end-to-end encrypted with keys that only your phone and your PC hold, so the relay that passes them along sees scrambled data and nothing more. Pairing needs a one-time code and your approval on the PC, and you can remove any phone, or turn the phone link off, whenever you like.
Connected tools
If you connect other apps, Bott can access them only to perform the workflows you use. You decide what to connect.
